Fruity and spicy salmon salad with strawberry and mango

Ingredients

For the salad

  • 250g salmon fillet, cut into cubes or left whole
  • 1 tbs ground chipotle or smoked paprika
  • 4-6 strawberries, thinly sliced
  • 1/2 mango, cut into cubes
  • 1 head of romaine lettuce, chopped
  • 1 bunch of cilantro
  • 1 shallot, thinly sliced
  • 1 lebanese cucumber, thinly sliced

For the salad sauce

  • 4 strawberries, roughly chopped
  • 1/2 mango, cut into cubes
  • 1 clove garlic, roughly chopped
  • 1/4 cup Casa Das Tias Piri Piri sauce (medium or hot)
  • 3 tbs of water
  • 1 tbs maple syrup
  • Salt and pepper

Preparation

  1. Put all the ingredients of the salad dressing in a blender. Taste and adjust seasoning if needed.
  2. Rub the salmon with the spices, salt and pepper.
  3. Heat a drizzle of oil in a skillet over medium heat. Cook the salmon 3-4 minutes on each side or more depending on thickness.
  4. Mix all the ingredients of the salad with the sauce in a bowl. Add salt and pepper to taste.
  5. You can add some nuts to your salad to add some crunch.
  6. Keep the rest of the salad dressing for your future salads or marinades.
